Chiropractic for Kids

Your nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue and organ of your body. How is it affecting your health?

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a form of health care that focuses on musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders, and the effects of these disorders on one’s health.

Chiropractic care is most commonly used to treat conditions related to these systems and is beneficial to people of all ages. Most patients seek chiropractic care after experiencing pain in their back, neck, joints and extremities.

Chiropractic physicians provide treatments that include a more holistic approach to healthcare. They are trained to have broad diagnostic skills and are able to recommend exercises for therapy and rehabilitation. The most common procedure performed by chiropractors is spinal manipulation, which is also referred to as an adjustment. Its purpose is to restore mobility and ultimately alleviate pain caused by subluxations of joints and affected tissue. Doctors of chiropractic use clinical examinations, diagnostic imaging, and other interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate.

There are a variety of adjusting techniques that chiropractors can utilize to help you achieve your wellness goals. It is important to find a chiropractor that is well versed in many techniques. Dr. Fitzgerald studied at the fountainhead of chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was able to learn from the finest professionals in his field and was trained in many techniques including Gonstead, Diversified, and Thompson. Additionally, Dr. Fitzgerald uses other methods to treat patients as appropriate such as Flexion-Distraction and Activator methods.
